Bharti Airtel has launched an unique ‘Emergency Alert Service’ for the good will of its subscribers in an emergency. With this new ‘Emergency Alert Servie’ launched by Bharti Airtel a subscriber can send alert message along with geographic location details to 10 mobile numbers.
In a statement Airtel said, “During an emergency, Airtel mobile customers can now send an alert with their geographic location to their closest 10 loved ones simultaneously with just a call, facilitating an access to easy and quick help”. It also added that “Subscribers can even send a ‘SAFE’ SMS indication to a pre-defined group of 10 family members and friends and keep them informed of their well being in case when out alone and during any natural calamity or disaster with just one click”.
Subscribers will be charged Rs.30 for 30 days who are opting for this new ‘Emergency Alert Service”. With this service a subscriber will be able to send an emergency alert to 10 mobile numbers registered by him/her. To send an emergency alert the subscriber have to call 55100. Then the 10 numbers that is registered by the subscribers will receive voice and SMS alerts along with location details of the subscriber.
The subscribers can also avail this service by SMS. To avail this service via SMS the subscriber has to type “HELP” in the messaging box and send it to 55100. Then this message will be then transferred to the 10 registered mobile numbers.
This new ‘Emergency Alert Service’ introduced by Bharti Airtel for the betterment of its Customers in an Emergency will be a boon but it would have been better and appreciable, if this service would have been free for its Customers. Share with us your views.
