This film is based on the novel by David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas. Cloud Atlas is a mix of six different periods: 1849, 1931, 1974, 2012, 2144 and 2321. More over this movie has an Super Star cast that includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving and Susan Sarandon. The budget is around one hundred million dollars, one of the highest ever made available for a film essentially independent, where twenty million dollars was invested by Warner.
