EKEN Electronics Hongkong based manufacturer has launched its Android tablets in India at a minimum price tag of Rs. 6,900, to fulfill the demand of the blank space left by the Akash tablet which was once considered as one of the cheapest tablet of India.
The company said that its partner based on Kerala known as Aldous Glare Trade & Exports (AGTE) will distribute EKEN tablets in India. AGTE CEO George Thomas said their target was to sell 10,000 units a month by the end of this year.
“India is an exploding market with huge potential for cost effective tablets. This factor influenced us to launch quality budget tablets in India and this will enable computing advantage to everyone”, Edison Chang, CEO EKEN Electronics said in a statement.

When the tablet pc’s got popular on the market the main are where it was popularly accepted was among the youth and youngsters in India are eager to buy a tablet but the cheapest one Aakash didn’t reach all the buyers because more than 3 million pre orders were booked since October 2011. Despite complaints galore, Datawind is yet to meet the demand and the next best version with a less price tag and within the affordable price range of millions of Indians was what EKEN Leopard should aim for.
