Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, commonly known as BSNL has introduced land line video calling in India. The BSNL landline users can now make video calls from BSNL landline. BSNL in partnership with SIS Infosystems launched video calling facility in telephones. At the beginning this facility will be used to set up public video call offices. This feature must own most of the Indian’s heart.
BSNL will charge Rs. 3/- for 45 seconds the video call made from VCO. The users those are using these video phones do not need computers to make video calls. This service was inaugurated by Sam Pitroda. The company will convert PCOs to VCOs with these video phones. People can make voice calls to any phone and video calls to any other internet phones.
A K Jain, BSNL’s Senior General Manager said, around 770 PCOs have confirmed to shift their business to VCOs and the target is to have 10,000 VCOs set-up across the country. People those who wish to get franchisee they will have to pay Rs 25,000 for VCO devices. So only few days after we can make video call from BSNL landline.
