There was a time when Microsoft ruled the entire tech industry with revenues of it’s market penetration and created a different monopoly. Since 2000 Microsoft has started losing ground as Google, Apple, Facebook and other advanced technological giants with much courage and strength of innovation. Hence the result is the business of Microsoft is not more worth more than all the iPhone market. Incredible but really it’s true.
The economical condition of this world is now so critical, if even I think whether to laugh or cry for it. Because now days not the big names but the small ones are so much capable of eating. Big names and brands are now putting their weapons down against small ones because of this frightened economical condition. So for this condition a single Apple product, something that did not even exist five years ago, is the highest sales of any thing to offer those of Microsoft. More Windows, Office, Xbox, Bing, Windows Phone and other products that Microsoft has created since 1975. In the fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2012, iPhone sales have reached 22.7 billion dollars but the weirdest scenario is that Microsoft Corporation has not exceeded 17.4 billion.
Microsoft, in short, he basically threw away a decade of its existence , thus ending up trampled by companies are clearly smaller, less branched but much more aggressive. Now you will ask How was this possible? It can be understood by anyone. If you can’t just way back in 1998-a geologic era is in computer terms-a group of engineers in Redmond was struck by the masterpiece of Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy “in which it forms a single book containing all the knowledge of the universe. Moved by this inspiration, the team created a prototype of a revolutionary eBook reader that turn into reality the vision of Adams, but there was an unexpected snag on the upper floors.
Excited by the success and looking forward to the laurels, the group sent the device to Bill Gates, however, vetoed it in record time. The eBook was not suitable for Microsoft, said. He did not like the GUI, because it looked like Windows. Whatever may be the other conditions but the group agreed in asserting fact that Windows would ruin everything in an eBook. The idea was to have a book and a book only on the screen, and the books have no real images of Microsoft Windows that are floating everywhere. Put similar things in an electronic version would end up destroying the user experience.
So Microsoft, ironically and was eventually crushed by the excessive weight of its two biggest hits, namely Windows and Office. In this meanwhile Apple continue to light his way, investing in research and development and above all by showing courage and vision that make them honor. Even if its true workhorse, it’s value is probably unattainable otherwise. Actually, Apple’s recent successes is for it’s light weight imagination. The real hidden creative idea from Apple is that they are able to achieve these levels of sales margins by continuing to grind on sale hardware software house. This is the trick that no one else can emulate.
For this reason Microsoft is preparing his future products and those are going to made from the light weight idea of Apple products. This why Microsoft goes for Windows 8 and Surface tablet’s for gearing up on his OS and tablet market. We can just wait and watch for future and if who knows Microsoft will back his wings and take a revolution in technology world like those days.
