Apple and Twitter: Integration on iTunes

Last week, two major American newspapers like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have revealed the possible intention of Apple to invest hundreds of millions of dollars on Twitter. Now the New York Times spreads further details on the agreement the two companies. Just take a tour of this integration with us.

According to the NYT last year, with the integration of Twitter in iOS 5, Apple decided to invest a large amount of money on the popular social network. According to people briefed on the facts, however, the idea has become a schedule of meetings and a phase of negotiation.
The sources say that Apple and Twitter continue to work hand in hand, thinking of new ways of integration. For example, iTunes would be a perfect field in which to get Twitter, of course, after the removal of Pong, the social music network designed by Apple and never took off.

In short, even the New York Times takes a step back, contending, as the Wall Street Journal, which plans to invest there had been a year ago, but the idea never materialized seriously. With iPhone OS 6 we will see seamless integration between Twitter, Facebook and mobile operating system from Apple. There is no guarantee that the two companies, which are not in talks for the moment, will come to an agreement. The discussions above are but a sign of a possible stronger partnership to counter competition from Google and Facebook.
