According to sources last year many computers got infected last year by a malware known as “Alureon/DNS Changer Bot“, the computers which are still infected by the virus shall lose their Internet connections on July 9. This virus has infected around 3,00,000 lakh computers worldwide among which US is in 1st position followed by Italy in 2nd position and India in 3rd position.
This malware was reported to have infected thousands of computers worldwide . US holds the maximum numbers of infections, there are more than a dozen countries having such infected computers including India, Italy, Germany, Britain, Canada, & France. India is reported to be the third highest in computers that are infected with the virus. It tolls around 21,300 infected computers. US and Italy are in position 1 & 2 respectively with 69,000 infected computers in US & 26,500 in Italy. UK tolls around 19,500 numbers of infected computers.
This Virus actually is a DNS changer. The job of DNS is to locate the and connect you to the website you want to get linked with. The virus changes the DNS settings which results in linking problems to websites, and other faulty internet services and not only that the virus will even steal away your personal datas by getting you linked with spoof websites.
